It's Not Chemistry, it's the Communication Matrix! Understanding the Tool and Interpreting Results

In this training, participants will 1) Learn about the foundations and structure of the Communication Matrix and 2) Review early means, functions, and developmental levels of communication, and learn how they are mapped on a Communication Matrix profile.

The Communication Matrix is a powerful assessment tool that can answer questions about current skills and inform goals for intervention. This free, online tool provides a series of questions about a student's communication means and functions, and is particularly helpful with students who are not yet speaking or who have emerging communication skills. The Communication Matrix results appear in a color-coded table that breaks down seven levels of communication development and looks a bit like a poster of the periodic table of elements. This presentation will review the Communication Matrix tool and how to interpret the table of results - no chemistry skills necessary!
